RULES & REGULATIONS
PLAYER ELIGIBILITY
- All players must check-in and sign a waiver/permission slip before playing in their first game. A player found playing and has not signed a waiver/permission slip will be awarded a technical foul. The game will then continue without the player until they have signed a waiver/permission slip.
- Players must be on the team roster prior to the start of the first scheduled game. A player not on a team’s roster before the team’s first games starts is not eligible to play with that team. For any roster changes, go to the team check-in table prior to the first scheduled game.
- All players are required to show photo ID at check-in (adults only).
- A roster check can be request by a team captain or the Tournament Coordinator and any time during the tournament. A roster check will consist of all players on the requested team to show photo ID to the Tournament Coordinator who will verify they are on the roster. A team captain can request a roster check for the opposing team at any time. If a roster check is requested after a game starts, the requesting team must call for a timeout and then request the roster check.
- A non-rostered player found playing in a game will result in a forfeit in favor of the opposing team.
PRE-GAME
- A game may start with a minimum of two (2) players.
- Both teams will warm-up at the same time prior to the start of the game.
- Only those teams scheduled to play are allowed to occupy the court at the scheduled time.
- Teams must be at their court at the scheduled game time, even if games are “running behind” for any reason (inclement weather, slow play, etc…). The final point of reference for scheduling procedures shall be the Bracket Area, not verbal information provided by a Court Monitor or Referee. The players are ultimately responsible for obtaining accurate scheduling information and being at their court to play when their game is to begin. Game time is forfeit time. Information given by the Court Monitor of Referee is not final.

- Each team is allowed two (2) one minute time-outs per game.

LIVE BALL/ DEAD BALL/POSSESSION
- Possession goes to the defensive team after a made basket (no make it take it).
- All jump balls go to the defensive team.
- The ball must be “taken back” to the marked line on the court on every change of possession. “Taking back” means both feet and the ball behind the take back line. Violation occurs only if a basket is made by the team failing to properly “take it back” and will result in loss of point scored and possession of the ball will go to the other team. If the ball is not “taken back” and then advanced, any other violation, common foul, offensive foul, intentional, flagrant or technical foul called by the official will be honored. Exception: If a player is fouled in the act of shooting and makes the basket prior to properly “taking it back”, the foul will be honored; however, no points will be awarded.
FOULS AND FREE THROWS
- Fouls are recorded on a team basis (not individual).
- When a foul is committed and the basket is made, the points will be counted, the foul is recorded as a team foul and possession will go to the defensive team. If the basket is not made, the foul is recorded as a team foul and possession will go to the offensive team.
- Teams will be considered “In the Bonus” once they have committed 6 team fouls. On the 6th committed team foul, the opposing team will shoot free throws as follows:
- Non-Shooting foul – One (1) free throw
- Field Goal Shooting foul – One (1) free throw
- Beyond the Arch Shooting foul – Two (2) free throws
- For all free throw situations (except technical fouls) if the free throw is made, the possession goes to the defensive team. If the free throw is missed the possession goes to the offensive team.
