Season 9 of VA Hoop League has kicked off and another battle has begun. Last years team Felynn Flyboyz have revamped with a new name, new sponsor and some new players. This year going by The Kaleo Kina Real Estate Team, they gave the for champions Hustle Squad an “L” to start the season. The game came down to the wire and The Kaleo Kina Real Estate Team pulled out the win by two in over time.
Welcome back to the young VA United one of the leagues top contenders last season. They tipped off against the seasoned We-Ball and in a game of youth vs age, the vets came out on top. We-Ball starts their season off with a win 67-53 over VA United.
After taking a season off Village Church of Portsmouth returns new and improved. Pastor James Taylor Jr. coached his team to a victory over the Free Agents. At one point the Free Agents were down 15 and made a run to get back in the game within 3 point. The couldn’t manage to keep the run going and Village Church of Portsmouth took home the win.
Ball So Hard made some power moves picking up two you gunners and silky smooth Jimmie Gerald formerly of team We-Ball. The new additions added to their core players, they looking like they are gonna make some noise this season. They faced off against the Garden who has been off for a season (Welcome back). Ball So Hard dominated most of the game getting the win by 18 point, putting them second in the standings.
The Underdogs return to the battle this with some new soldiers. They went up against the newcomers team Flight. Welcome to the league team Flight. Flight started off the season making a statement with 27 point win over the Underdogs putting the first in standings for week one. From their guards to their bigs, Flight definitely all the pieces to be a top team this season.
